hi and welcome.

It was a good decision not to get baptised. Get a life as much away from the JWs as you can.
hi everyone, ive been lurking at the forums for a while now, just reading the posts and trying to figure things out.

i later found out his mother had something to do with it.

as an active witness atm i speak reguarly with friends and family who are also active.
it seems however that there are some things that people are comfortable discussing such as beards (whats the problem) and birthdays (everyone would if they could) and, if you are with close friends, things like confusion over the generations, pressure of keeping all the balls juggled, harshness of rules around da/df ones along with long lapsed family and to some extent blood.. my guess is that there are many more who may be in a similar state of mind to me and wondering if it really is all worth it.
it makes me wonder about how many with express themselves more if they could?
My doubts caused me to study more and pray more.... and the more I prayed and studied, the more questions that were raised, and discovered things that didn't make sense...
Which lead to me leaving...
I think there's alot more JWs questioning things than there ever has been before. It's good.
i'm a big science nerd and i remember when we were going over the creator book, that the big bang doesn't necessarily prove there is no god.. i said this comment during book study and the conductor's jaw dropped.
everyone was pretty uncomfortable and it didn't help that he ct me off as i was explaining the red shift and mom wasn't too happy about all that.
i had to do a lot of bible research and write some nonsense about how the big bang was not reality or some sort...ugh.. .
Fresh lemon juice on fish is better!!
congrats to bradley wiggins and to all the brits on the board!.
i'm rooting for three riders this year.
2 have a very realistic chance.
I take it that it's mainly a gentleman's agreement.
As for the French guy who "attacked" and raced ahead, the commentators said he would be the "black sheep" of his team that night and the other racers wouldn't be happy with him.
So although it's not written in the rules, it's generally agreed that there's certain behaviour that's allowed and not "allowed" all in the name of fair sportsmanship.
Which makes watching it more pleasurable when you know it's not all cut-throat.
it was just braodcast on the news that katherine jackson has been reported missing.. she has not been seen for over a week and some family members are "concerned for her safety".. apparently the family is divided due to arguing over money (surprise surprise)!.
.
has anyone else heard this?.

Yes, Bradley Wiggins was already in the lead pack, and he told the others in the lead pack to hold back until Cadel could catch up, out of respect for Cadel being the past winner. The commentators all spoke how it was a sign of good sportsmanship on Wiggins' behalf. Wiggins himself said that it wasn't right for them to win due to someone else's misfortune.
A Frenchman did take advantage of the situation, and zoomed ahead instead, and got condemned for his unprofessional behaviour.
There was someone who was already way ahead of the lead pack, who won by a mile, but he wasn't condemned because he was already too far ahead of the main racers so he was able to win fair and square.
Hope that all makes sense!

Did they find out who threw the tacks on the road the other day?
Disappointed that Cadel Evens won't be winning but it's been a good race overall.
it seems like lately we have been missing out on a lot of invites to congregation gatherings and our field service group has gatherings but we never seem to get invited.
btw this is not a bad thing.
hoser.
Same thing happened to me.
After a while, you realise you don't miss them anymore and it makes it easier to stop attending meetings altogether. So their shunning is ultimately a good thing, lol.
so, i'm attending a funeral for someone that was in the local congregation today.. i told my mom what i planned on wearing- a cute, dark grey blouse and some nicely tailored black pants.
she just about lost it.. mom- "you can't wear pants, it's at the kingdom hall!!!".
mom- "well, i guess you could, but you would feel so awkward and uncomfortable.
I went to a JW funeral a few weeks ago and I wore pants.
I did it to show that I wasn't following JW rules anymore. They were dressy pants that quite loose so they may had even given the appearance of being a skirt. Paired them with a pair of dressy court shoes.
The funeral was for a JW who had more non-JW friends than JWs so anyone that didn't know me may had assumed I was a non-JW anyway.
